The base image (May 2006) does not have the CRM 3.0 client for Outlook that supports Office 2007 (v3c). Is there any impact to Analytics Foundation if Office 2007 and v3c is applied to the image?

There should be no impact as Analytics Foundation affects the server, not the client. In fact, Excel 2007 is recommended over Excel 2003 for browsing UDMs. One thing to note is that you might encounter errors when deploying predictive analytics solutions on the May 2006 VPC (lead prioritization deploys fine though).

I have deployed this on the May 2006 VPC and have encountered some errors (are these documented?). The Analytics Foundation Deployment Guide suggests the May 2006 VPC as a deployment option. I have installed Excel 2007 for browsing the UDMs.

wanlizhu, hello...I noticed that the expectation set here is that the oppt predictive analytics will not work on May 2006 VPC, that is what I have found. And the lead prediction works fine as was said...any thoughts on how best to proceed to get the Oppt predictives to work? is this just an issue on the VM codebase?

I believe I've responded to some of these over email. For the record:

1. Applying Office 2007 and v3c should not have any negative impact as the Analytics Foundation bits are server side. The cube browsing experience in Excel 2007 is improved over Excel 2003, so I would highly recommend upgrading to Excel 2007.

2. The May 2006 VPC does produce errors when deploying some of the predictive analytics. The issue seems to be dll related. We're in the process of releasing a diff disk on the May 2006 VPC that will have Analytics Foundation deployed and Excel 2007 - please stay tuned.

Any Update on the VPC Part?
